Charity Calendar

Wow what a busy few weeks it has been. The Mothers day exhibition will finish this saturday and the next planned one is for Fathers day.

The charity calendar is going well and by the middle of next week I will have shot all 18 of the people taking part!. They have all been great and happy to try poses that I have suggested as well as suggesting their own. The props that they have brought to cover the "vital bits" have been equally varied from a piece of turf cut in a heart shape (can you guess what month that will be?) to Horus the Egyptian god to an ironing board and just about everything inbetween.

I have had my first batch of postcards printed to promote my wedding business and have decided to do a promotion on my pet portraits to give 10% of orders from my dog portraits to the local "pat dogs" organsation The picture of rosie in the daffodils will be the front of that card.

I am also continuing my longterm shoe project and here is one of my latest shots

Hello again



First can I say "hope you get well soon" to Marian who has snapped an achillies tendon playing badminton last evening. We have a joint exhibition leading up to Mothering Sunday which starts with a preview evening this comming Friday from 5pm-7pm at Chatteris Library. All are welcome





I have agin done some mixed media acrylics to compliment my photographs mainly involving shoes and handbags which you all know is one of my ongoing projects. I hope you enjoy the images posted which will be in the exhibition.

More of the Madaos Images

In my last post a showed some of the images from a recent shoot I did for Madaos. Since then I have started on a series of images for a charity calendar. The first shoot was last night and the next is this evening. They are all customers of a local pub called The Honest John and the mony rased will go to the charity that decorates the town with Christmas Lights.

I will not post them on here untill the images have been selected but this image was taken from the Madaos shoot and is not a composite he really does jump that high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Copacabana

This last week has seen me shooting promotional and publicity images for a show to take place later in the year. The show is Copacabana and all the cast and crew were a joy to work with. Here are two of the approx 188 images that were selected. The society which is MADAOS put on two shows a year with this being the first of 2009. I have lots of shoots over the comming weeks including some for a Calendar to raise funds for a local charity. I will post more from these shoots as they are done.

Horses

Last night we had a thick layer of snow so my daughter asked if I coud photograph some of the beautiful black horses she works with. These are used to pull wedding and funeral carriages for a local company who I am told do "four in hand" which is unusal. I wont put the unmanipulated ones up untill the owners have seen them but here are two images that have been through minor work in photoshop, I do hope you find them interesting

New exhibitions

With the current exhibiion going so well myself and Marian are planning both joint and solo exhibitions for the next year. Booking venues that are suitable is always difficult and although many will be based locally we are also looking further afield.

I like the idea of strict deadlines as it focuses me in a way that gets lots done in a short time. Some people ask if that makes the work less artistic but to me it doesnt, I dont think the amount of time spent on a piece necessarily makes it better. Art in all its forms is the artist conveying their emotions in their chosen media. Some work can take minuites others can take years. I dont think you can value any art on time taken.

I hope to have a good proportion of new work for each exhibition and some will be all new work on a set theme. In the meantime here is some of my images to break up all the words. I hope you enjoy the blog and find inspiration in everything you see and do.
